I will not contest NPP race again – Joe Ghartey bows out

835839651_565320The Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikadu-Ketan Constituency, Hon. Joe Ghartey has bowed out of the flagbearer position in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) come October 18, 2014.

Speaking to Philip Osei-Bonsu on Skyy Power Fm’s ‘Jolly Breakfast Show,’ the former Attorney General said he will no longer contest for the flagbearership race in October since his target for the Super Delegate Conference yesterday was not met. Probing him to know what his target was, the acclaimed best Morning Show host in Western and Central Regions (Osei-Bonsu) asked him what the target was and Joe Ghartey said he cannot say that on air but the most important thing is that, his target was not met and he is out of the race.

The legislator indicated that, he will support whoever the party has decided on as their preferred choice to fight the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2016.

Joe Ghartey polled 22 votes representing 2.97% of the total vote cast in the Super Delegates’ Congress on Sunday.
