“It is outrageous, it is baseless and senseless” – Castro’s father attacks Lawyer Maurice Ampaw

emotThe all-knowing Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has infuriated the father of Theophilus Tagoe aka Castro Da Destroyer. Mr. John Eshun who spoke to Winston Amoah on Skyy Power FM’s News at 1 today was enraged by the claims of the lawyer saying they are “baseless, senseless and outrageous.”

From what www.233times.net gathers, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw who seems to have more information on the Castro-Janet Bandu ordeal than anyone in Ghana made a wild allegation today that some people close to Asamoah Gyan attempted to bribe Castro’s parents to keep mute over his fate.

“So what is there to hide for someone to try to bribe Castro’s father?” Winston Amoah asked Lawyer Ampaw. “I think it is Castro’s mother rather who lives at Dansoman. I think there was an attempt and the woman refused. Infact GHc 10,000, I think she refused because she more interested in finding her son than in the money, I think it is unfortunate incident” Maurice Ampaw replied.

“I don’t want to make that disclosure; it will be part of my bombshell. I will make it available to the police but I think that the woman is aware, that was an attempt” Mr. Ampaw’s answer when Wiston asked who attempted bribing the mother of Castro.

The unshakable Lawyer Ampaw said that those who attempted bribing Castro’s mother were associates of Asamoah Gyan. He confirmed that he knows that for a fact and not a deduction he is making, “my source is 100%, you can even contact the woman. Credible information, Castro’s mother is around, so we can contact her.”

Talking to Castro’s father on phone, Winston asked him if he has heard any attempt to bribe them to keep mute and speaking on this issue for the first time on media, Mr. Tagoe said “I am speaking with deep emotions. I have decided not to talk because I have never stood anywhere and said my son is dead. I went to Ada and saw clearly that my son really disappeared so the family being spearheaded by me has been doing everything possible to come to terms with this issue. It saddens me so much; I am speaking with deep emotions. Infact, this is outrageous, it is baseless, it is senseless for somebody to come out with this statement. How do I compromise, how do I exchange the life of my son? You know this issue is even bigger than the family. The whole nation is in a state of shock with what has really taken place.”

“I have had a lot of calls from a lot of media houses but I have decided not to come out with any statement because whatever comes out from my mouth should be very concrete. This is what I have been telling my good friends in the media. I don’t want to come out today, the next time and I come out with anything. We’ve been working together as a family in quiet, we’ve never been coming to media, not been saying this. We believe in the police” angry Mr. Eshun posited.

“You know let me tell you, when the case happened, that morning I spoke to my son around 10. I was in church and when the call came I spoke to him, we had a very good discussion. I was supposed to meet him the next Wednesday in Accra to discuss some very important issue. Around 1:30pm I was on my way coming home when I started having calls, some of the calls even was outside Ghana before I started having internal calls. That was when I started calling my son; the whole of the Sunday I called, the Monday I called, I didn’t have any response from him even though it was going alright. I went to Ada the following day. I took the statement from Asamoah and his team; they were about 14 in number. On that day you needed to be there to see the atmosphere” Castro’s father narrated what happened.

Mr. Eshun says he has been in constant touch with the Gyan family since and they even visited them at Castro’s mother’s residence in Dansoman.

“It is outrageous, it is baseless, it is senseless, It is outrageous, it is baseless, it is senseless for somebody to say this in this trying time. Look at the emotions, the trauma that the family is going through. You see I only got the Lawyer’s number three days ago through a friend and he said he needed to meet me so I planned to meet the lawyer. There are some other information he has to even know. You see I have a very big family, I come from the royal family in Ahanta, it will even be a disgrace to the Ahanta kingdom. How do I exchange money for the life of my son, Jesus Christ! I don’t want to comment on this issue but people should take care. I like the way the lawyer is picking up the case as a citizen vigilante but he should consult” was his reply when Winston asked him if it is true that someone tried bribing Castro’s mother with GHc10,000.
