NDC should praise-sing Nana Addo if they can still glorify Rawlings – Kweku Baako

Kwaku-BaakoIn recent times, one man who has been tagged violent by the National Democratic Congress is Nana Akufo Addo. Every action he takes has been minutely analyzed under a microscope and often-times, met with harsh criticisms from his arch political rivals.

The infamous “all-die-be-die” and “Atiwa” remarks, have always been the ruling party’s main reference point of the perceived dark side of Nana Akufo-Addo.

But Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has slammed the NDC for their hypocritical posture.

Speaking on Joy fm’s News File show, the renowned journalist pointed out that since Nana Akufo Addo led the “Kume Preko” demonstrations organized by the Alliance For Change (AFC) in 1995, the NDC has fruitlessly tried to taunt him as a violent leader.

Mr. Baako finds it hard to come to terms with members of the NDC who have failed to remove the log from their eyes before attempting to single out Nana Akufo- Addo and claim his deeds makes him unfit to be president.

He claims that if members of the party could still revere their founder, former President Rawlings, despite his long standing record as an autocratic leader, then they must even sing an everlasting praise unto Nana Addo.

“You guys (NDC) even praise him (Rawlings) all the time…this is a man who had even overthrown a constitution by violence but sat on us for eleven years. After this he constitutionally ruled us for another eight years and existed according to the constitution.”

Despite this ‘painful’ lingering memory, Mr. Baako explains that most Ghanaians found rooms in their heart to forgive him after he exited power as defined by the 1992 constitution.

“He had options but come on; we clapped for him and congratulated him for following the constitution. In spite of everything when his eight years period came to an end, he exited power and the people said it was good for Ghana and it indeed promoted us”, Mr. Baako said.
