Presidential candidate, Odike storms antoa (PHOTO)

odikeTHERE WAS hot debate at the shrine of the river deity, Antoa Nyamaa, on Saturday when the 2012 United Front Party (UFP) Presidential Candidate, Kwasi Addai, aka Odike and the Asokwahene, Nana Fe Baamoah II, met at the sacred place.

Odike and the Asokwa chief were at the shrine of the powerful river deity at the instance of the latter, who wanted a curse called on him by Odike over a parcel of land at Asokwa to be revoked once and for all for peace to prevail.

But it was confusion galore as the two personalities reportedly claimed that the Asantehemaa’s court at the Manhyia Palace had adjudicated the case some months ago.

Odike and the Asokwahene’s open claim of winning the case at the Asantehemaa’s palace caused confusion and so it prevented the fetish priest of Antoa Nyamaa, Nana Asiamah, from leading the two gentlemen to perform some rituals in the river to reverse the curse.

The seeming lack of understanding between Odike and the traditional ruler compelled Nana Asiamah to postpone the performance of the rituals.

Order

The Antoa Nyamaa fetish priest said that he would send some of his elders to join the Asokwahene and Odike to visit the Asantehemaa’s palace on Tuesday to verify from the Asante Queen her verdict on the dicey case when it was brought before her.

Nana Asiamah told DAILY GUIDE on phone that the verdict of the Asantehemaa’s court would go a long way with regards to how the case should be settled and the curse reversed at the shrine.

Demolition

Odike was putting up a DVLA testing complex on a piece of land at Asokwa which he (Odike) claimed to have bought from the Asokwahene, but the structure was demolished.

The UFP presidential candidate suspected that Nana Fe Baamoah II and Kojo Bonsu, the Kumasi Mayor, had hands in the demolition exercise and so he invoked the name of the river deity to curse the two men.

Death Threat

Meanwhile, Nana Fe Baamoah II has accused Odike of threatening to take away his life, and told the paper that he was not treating the matter with kid’s glove and that he had since reported the matter to the Ashanti Regional Police CID.

Police

When contacted, the investigator who is handling the case, confirmed to DAILY GUIDE that the Asokwahene had lodged a complaint with the police, adding that Odike had been summoned to come to the station on Monday.

Odike

Giving his side of the story, Odike vehemently debunked the allegation that was being made against him by the Asokwahene, saying that the chief “feels insecure hence his decision to peddle falsehood.”

According to the UFP leader, he (Odike) at the shrine, asked for two options: either the Asokwahene handed to him allocation paper of the land under contention for peace to prevail; or he (Odike) would demand a whopping ¢5 billion, covering the cost of the land and the demolished structure.

Fetish Priest

When the fetish priest was contacted about the death threats, he stated emphatically, “I did not hear any of them threatening to kill each other when they visited the shrine on Saturday.”

According to him, it was the Asokwahene who reported at the shrine that Odike had cursed him over a land issue some months ago and that he (Odike) seemed not willing to come for the curse to be revoked at the shrine “and this was what resulted in the Saturday meeting at the shrine.”

Witness

A driver of the fetish priest, who claimed to be present when the two gentlemen left the premises of the shrine, said they both exchanged words “and I was the one who separated them for peace to prevail.”

The eye witness insisted that he did not hear death threats either from the Asokwahene or Odike when they exchanged words right in front of the Antoa Nyamaa shrine.
