The inspiring story of Western and Central Region’s favourite Presenter and RTP Nominee

10411141_364904063662773_5724531654066008090_nOn week days from 1:30 – 3 PM, one would be wondering if there is only one radio station in Takoradi. The voice of one Presenter echoes across the metropolis and his jingles would be mistaken for the anthem of Western and Central Regions as all radio sets in and across the regions spew it.

‘Odam Sokoo,’ the most listened radio programme in Takoradi is hosted by the vociferous Kojo Addison. With his never-quenching zeal and passion to serve the people of Western and Central Regions with the best radio show, his hard work has been acknowledged with 2 nominations in this year’s Radio and Television Presenters Awards (RTP).

Kojo Addison when contacted by this Reporter to know the magic he has been using on Western and Central Regions all this years shared the most inspiring story about how he started radio. Mr. Addison revealed, “I started as a radio studio boy; I was the one who run errands for the Presenters and the workers when they needed something. When they found out that I could drive, I then became the driver of the station and the same time I was playing the morning devotion on the station.”

“One day, the regular host of the mid-morning show was absent I had to sit in for him and that was it! I was able to really handle the show because I had always rehearsed even when I was not known to be a Presenter by the station. I had my private rehearsals anytime I close from work when I wasn’t a Presenter yet.” Kojo Addison told this medium.

His high sense of humour, his ability to speak more than 3 dialects, his commanding voice and his relations with listeners has made him impregnable on radio. If randomly asking residents of Western and Central Regions to mention their favourite Presenter, Kojo Addison would dorminate, this Reporter can confidently mention.

Kojo Addison hosts ‘Odam Sokoo’ on Skyy Power 93.5 FM in Takoradi. To vote for him to win the RTP Awards, kindly send ‘RTP Addison’ to 1446 to win the Best Mid-Morning Show Host of the year and Best Radio Personality (Western Region).
