According to her, although she was not promised any commission from the Ministry of Sports, she was paid $250 per diem for her role as ambassador.
Becca was among 14 persons announced by the Ministry of Sports to serve as ambassadors to rally support for the Black Stars, as well as help raise funds and brand Ghana during the country’s participation at the World Cup in June.
According to Becca, she received a call from the Project Coordinator of the Ghana Brazil 2014 World Cup, Fred Darko, that she had been shortlisted as an ambassador for Ghana at the World Cup.
She disclosed that although she had a couple of meetings with representatives from the Youth and Sports Ministry, she never signed any contracts detailing her role as a brand ambassador.
She added that as part of her responsibilities, she visited some corporate bodies to solicit funds to support the Black Stars.
Becca, who performed at the “Meet Ghana in Brazil” concert in Natal said, “I think I was used positively well.”
“I was assigned specific roles to play and I think I did my best. I was able to sell Ghana using my talent, my image, I promoted the image of Ghana and I performed and I think I did quite well with that…as a whole, I think I did my very best,” she said.
