The names of the suspects, who are aged 15 and 16, are being withheld.

The suspects, said to be scrap dealers, were believed to have broken into the house through a garage to access the victim’s room when he was not present.

Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Achimota Mile 7 District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Peter Ayembilla, said on Wednesday, October 1, at about 1:20p.m., the suspects broke into the house when the occupants were not home.

Suspicions

He said a neighbour who saw the suspects carrying the items wrapped in a bedsheet suspected that they were stolen and questioned them.

Mr Ayembilla said the suspects told the neighbour that the items were scraps they had collected and were sending to Agbobgloshie to sell.

The neighbour doubted their claim and asked them to open it and the two television sets were found.

Upon interrogation, he said they confessed that they broke into the house through the garage and took the items.

Mr Ayembilla said the suspects would soon be put before the juvenile court.
