Three persons have been arrested for allegedly smoking ‘Indian hemp’ at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional congress in Tamale.
They were picked by the security at the congress grounds. Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh confirmed this to Citi News. He said they were whisked to the Regional Police command following pressure on the security to release them.
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh warned that security personnel on the ground will not entertain any acts of violence likely to mar the congress.
Apart from this isolated case, the congress is ongoing smoothly and delegates started voting at 4:30 pm.
According to the Tamale Metro Police Command, about 700 police personnel in collaboration with the Army are large and in charge.
