Ashanti Region: Man beheads wife

2376080629105_111292395740A middle-aged man called Efo Kwesi has beheaded his wife at Brumeso, a suburb at Konongo in the Ashanti region.

The lifeless body of 35 year old, Adwoa Serwaa was found in the couple’s house after he [Efo] reported the matter to the police.

According to Virgin City Radio’s, Adu Gyamfi, the man is suspected to have slashed his wife’s throat with a hack-saw blade after a scuffle between them.

He indicated that Efo Akwasi tried to commit suicide after the hideous crime but failed.

Residents in the area who saw the lifeless body of Adwoa Serwaa expressed shock at the incident.

The body of the deceased has since been deposition at First Class hospital morgue in Konongo.

Meanwhile, the Konongo police has began investigation into the matter.

Superintendent Sulley Ibrahim said they are yet to unravel the mystery behind the crime.

He noted that the suspect is currently on admission at the First Class hospital after a failed suicide attempt.

Supt. Ibrahim said they monitoring Efo Kwesi closely so when he is discharged, he will face the full rigorous of the law.
