British High Commission wants to meddle in Ghana politics – Ablakwa

Samuel-Okudzeto-Ablakwa-2The statement issued by the British High Commission denying any collaboration with NACOB in the arrest of the Ghanaian woman with cocaine in London is an attempt by the Mission to meddle in the politics of Ghana, Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said.“The statement was in very bad taste. From where I sit I see this statement as attempt by some people sitting at the British High Commission enjoying what is going on, the frenzy over the drug issue and trying to stoke it. It’s so nebulous and ambiguous,” Ablakwa said on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji show.

He said the British High Commission should have come clean with all the facts on the matter if they were minded to participate in the discussions objectively.

In his view, the facts stated in the communique by the High Commission do not tell the full story of what exactly transpired before the arrest was made.

Nayele Ametefeh who traveled from the Kotoka International Airport in Accra was arrested at the Heathrow Airport in the UK with 12 kilograms of cocaine.

She is currently being held by the British authorities.
