The Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) have picked up nine more people in Accra in connection with the arrest of Nayele Ametefeh at Heathrow.
Ms Ametefeh had tried to smuggle 12.5 kilos of cocaine to the UK.
According to the Daily Guide newspaper, two women out of the nine persons arrested were travelling with Nayele, also known as Ruby.
The ladies, Nana Akua Amponsah and Sadalia Nuhu, according to the newspaper had abandoned their luggage and absconded from the Heathrow International Airport after Nayele was busted.
The other seven are Paa Kwesi Acquah, believed to be Sandra’s boyfriend; Mustapha Kilba; three Lebanese, Faisal Khadar, Abdulla Mustrah, Mouiw Jaafar and Charbel Nasr, and Italian, Marioto Bernard Young.
Earlier, three Foreign Affairs staff were remanded into prison custody by a circuit court.
This brings the arrests so far by the BNI to a total of 12.
Ghanaian woman, Nayele Ametefeh, aka Ruby Adu Gyamfi, was busted with cocaine at the Heathrow airport after she tried to smuggle the banned substance, with a street value of more than 5 million dollars two weeks ago
Ms Ametefeh is expected to appear in a UK court on November 27 over the matter.
