Uncertainty around the coach’s job is growing week-by-week but the defender insists he should stay in his role
Juan Jesus has voiced his support of Walter Mazzarri after Inter’s 1-1 draw with Saint-Etienne in the Europa League.
The coach has come under immense pressure in recent weeks, with the Nerazzurri struggling to build any kind of consistency under the 53-year-old.
And while the defender felt it necessary to apologise for his side’s showing after they let slip the lead in France, he insists Inter should stick by the former Napoli boss.
“We knew it was a tall order coming here and taking on Saint-Etienne in their own back yard, with all their fans behind them,” he said after the match.
“We put everything into it and ran our socks off so we’re disappointed with the result. We played with real hunger.
“We have to take to the pitch with grit and determination, that’s what we need at the moment.
“We have to stay with the coach until the end.”
