Kwaw Kese arrested in Kumasi

400699802_223166Hiplife star, Emmanuel Botchwey popularly known as Kwaw Kese, has been arrested by the police in Kumasi, for allegedly smoking cannabis in public.

Reporting from Kumasi-based Hello FM, Sampson K. Nyamekye said the ‘Abodam rapper’ was arrested around 1:30 am, Saturday at a wine shop close to Plus Two pub at Nhyiaseo, a suburb of Kumasi.

Kwaw Kese was said to have visited Kumasi, to take part in the famous Old School Reunion programme at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday.

After the programme, he went to Plus Two pub to hang out with his friends.

According to Sampson, a police patrol team after seeing him smoking with some friends, suspected that he was smoking cannabis and consequently arrested him.

ASP Charles Appiah of the Police Drug Law Enforcement Unit commenting on the issue said the hiplife artiste did not deny smoking cannabis neither did he resist arrest.

Meanwhile, the Police have ruled out bail and are processing him for Court on Monday, 24th November, 2014 on a provisional charge of using narcotic drug.
