NDC will certainly not win in 2016 – J. J. Rawlings

Jerry_Rawlings_2“…this government is certainly not going to earn us the political office in 2016. At this stage, we (NDC) are bound to lose……Just as we were bound to lose when President Mills was in office, fortunately God took him away and gave a new hope to this party and I said that at that time, the freshness of John made it possible for this party to win, this time around, he will need a rejuvenated party to stay in office” says Former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM Eye Witness news, the former President said the performance of the Mahama-led administration is so bad that it has made the NDC unattractive to the Ghanaian.

“They (NDC) seem to lack the sort of integrity that is required in the leadership of this party. It appears some of them have compromised themselves, some of them have been involved in things that are making it almost impossible and difficult for them to ensure that the gear changes on the situation in government…” he said.

Meanwhile, former President Rawlings has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to expand their electoral college just like the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He has also urged delegates who will be taking part in the upcoming elections to get rid of corrupt executives since that will be the only way for the party (NDC) to gain back its integrity.

According to him, “If we bring on board people who have not compromised themselves, people who have not allowed themselves to be corrupted by money… we could be doing better than what is going on currently.”
