Personal assistant of murdered DCE narrates how his boss was killed

e7be08c4d969aabe02d87b6157ee4370_LPersonal Assistant to Peter Kojo Kenyenso, the deceased District Chief Executive of Nkwanta South has recounted events leading to the fatal shooting Monday night.

According to Samuel Mawutor, the 49-year old DCE and 2012 parliamentary aspirant was looking for his phone in his car that fateful night with the help of his secretary’s torchlight when the fatal shot rang out from the darkness.

The secretary was speaking to Joy News’ Volta regional correspondent Hubert Yevu-Agbi.

“I was in the house  so yesterday he came back…he got off the car and called me that he can’t find his mobile phone”, he revealed.

“He quickly called me that I should come with a touch light so I went there with a torchlight.  I was at the driver’s side looking for the phone. He passed at the other side also looking for the phone”.

“All of a sudden I heard a shot, I quickly knelt down…and started calling people for help. It is scary”, the eyewitness said.

Eight people have been arrested so far in connection with the incident. His shocking death his alarmed other DCEs in the Volta region who are now calling for increased police protection

Peter Kenyenso, a Professional Marketer and a businessman, was to turn 50 years soon. He was born on November 21, 1964 at Keri in the Volta Region of Ghana.

He received his primary education at Keri Local Authority Primary School and went on to Nkwanta Local Authority Middle School. Peter entered Nkwanta Secondary School and proceeded to Agona Swedru Secondary School for his Six Form. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with Political Science at the University of Ghana.

After the successful completion of his national service, Peter was employed as a Marketing Manager with Electromod Company, where they sold computers and related accessories to companies and business organizations for six years.

Moving on, Peter  formed the KKEP Micro Security System of which he was managing director until his appointment as DCE

The late DCE is married to Mrs. Esther Kenyenso, a Chartered Accountant and they have three children. The Kenyenso family worships with the International Gospel Church.
