Lawyer for embattled hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese has challenged the police to prove that the suspected illegal substance found on his client is cannabis.
Kwaw Kesse is facing charges of possession of narcotics without lawful authority.
The musician was arrested last Saturday for allegedly smoking the substance in public. He was denied bail Tuesday and remanded into prison custody to reappear in two weeks’ time.
Kwaw Kesse’s lawyer , Nana Kwasi Boaitey noted that before his client was remanded, he prayed the court to grant the musician bail, arguing that his client is popular in the country so he could not abscond when granted bail.
He noted that Abodam, if given bail, could not interfere in the testing of the suspected banned substance at the forensic laboratory, adding that his client would be available in court whenever he is called to do so.
Nana Kwasi Boaitey also stated that Abodam left his family in Accra and travelled to Kumasi for a music concert thus the court should grant him bail to enable him reunite with his family.
The Judge, William Boampong did not take any of the lawyer’s pleas and remanded Kwaw Kese in prison custody.
