Reports reaching BEATWAVES indicate that Emmanuel Ababio, aka Promzy, formerly of Vision In Progress (VIP), did not resign from the Nima based hiplife group as was speculated by a section of the music stakeholders but was rather sacked.
According to the source who pleaded anonymity, Promzy did not leave the group for personal reasons, but his exit from the group was masterminded by one of the
hiplife artistes who claimed to be the godfather of hiplife music in Ghana.
The source told BEATWAVES that Promzy and his two brothers, Prodigal and Zeal, formerly called Lazzy, were cool and had made plans for a new project that they
were about to get underway, “only for Promzy to hear that he has been replaced with another person.”
Although Promzy challenged his former group members to produce his resignation letter if they claim he truly resigned or left the group on his own volition, they could
not produce it, the source pointed out.
It would be recalled that sometime last year, it was highly publicised in the media that Promzy had left the music group after almost two decades of doing music with them.
The group, also made up of Joseph Nana Ofori (Prodigal), and Abdul Hamid Ibrahim (Lazzy now Zeal), came out to confirm the news through their manager and consequently through interviews.
