GFA yet to submit co-efficient list

Information this medium indicates that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to submit the list of beneficiaries of the World Cup appearance fee to the Dzamefe World Cup Commission.

It would be recalled that the Presidential Commission of Inquiry asked President of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi, to submit a list of beneficiaries and their corresponding amount received to the commission when he took his turn at the commission.

When asked about how the appearance fee was shared among the seven-member management team of the Black Stars, Mr Nyantakyi said the $577,000 was shared using a co-efficient formula which extended to other stakeholders apart from the management team.

This prompted the Presidential Commission to request for a list of the beneficiaries and the amount each received, but that is yet to be honoured.

According to the media relations officer of the commission, Mr Thomas Boakye Agyemang, apart from the co-efficient list which is yet to be submitted, the FA has also failed to present the commission with the cost-friendly matches played by the Black Stars from 2005 to date.

He explained that the FA was asked to present detailed documents on the matches played, agents involved, venues of the matches played and contracts signed for the games.

He added that the GFA boss was also asked to make available supportive documents on claims that the FA has spent about GH¢36 million on the Black Stars since 2006.

He, however, noted that a reminder to present these documents was written by counsel of the commission, Jonathan Acquah, to the FA prior to Ghana’s game against Uganda (away) for the 2015 AFCON qualifiers, but it has not been heeded to.

Mr Boakye said the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) is also yet to present some documents to the commission.

He, however, told The Finder that the commission will go ahead with its report, to be submitted on Sunday, December 14, 2014.
