Ghanaian leaders must be generational thinkers – Okyehene

amoatia-ofori-paninThe paramount Chief of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, Okyehene Amoatia Ofori Panin II has described as “madness” the level of corruption in the country.

He has urged Ghanaian leaders and citizens to be generational thinkers whose actions are geared towards securing the welfare of future generations rather than being insular and parochial in their thinking.

“All of us have to begin to become generational thinkers,” he told an audience at the second golf awards in Accra Saturday.

“Generational thinkers are not involved in this madness, greed,” he said.

“They are not involved in selfishness. They are involved in building nations and [putting] their own future on hold and to think about the future of our children; creating change that could be lasting, building a new Ghana that has full opportunity: a Ghana that is economically prosperous, yet socially just.

“A Ghana where our children will no longer feel that it is a curse to be born here,” the President of the Eastern regional house of chiefs said.
