IMG-20141202-WA00121-620x330New Black Stars coach Avram Grant has arrived in Ghana to officially take charge of the team as it prepares for the Nations Cup in January.

Grant arrived at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday night, and said: “ I am happy to be in Ghana and I am looking forward to working with the players.”

The Israeli coach may not be under a lot of pressure to deliver at the impending Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Equotorial Guinea as according to the Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantaki, Grant has only been “tasked to do well at the 2015 AFCON and win the Nations cup in 2017”

Grant on arrival in Accra told TV3’s Juliet Bawuah that “I am hoping to inspire a new generation.”

“I know most of the players,” he insisted but the GFA President has said “Grant needs time to know the players very well.”

Later on Wednesday, Grant is expected to meet the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga, before meeting the members of the Black Stars Management Committee and later address the press about his vision for the team.
