President John Dramani Mahama has cautioned motorists to exercise utmost restraint during the Christmas season.
In his Christmas message to Ghanaians, President Mahama urged motorists to be guided by road traffic regulations to avoid any road accident during the yuletide.According to the President, the country records a high numbers of cases during these festive seasons
“We record a high number of road accidents during festive seasons. Vehicular accidents cause injury to drivers, passengers and other road users and it cause pain and distress to love ones, family and friends,” he said.
He added that most of these case are due to drivers faults adding that “the causes of these roads traffic accidents include texting and driving, overspeeding, overloading, wrongful over taking, drunk driving and disregard to road traffic regulations.”
He therefore cautioned drivers to be discipline and respect other road users.
“Be discipline on the road by respecting other road users.
He then encouraged them to be cautious while plying the roads as it will make them and loved ones happy.
“Your loved ones, families and friends and I need you alive. Put a smile on the faces of your loved ones and family by getting to you destination safely, he said.
