We need to know what/who killed Atta Mills – Ekumfi Otuam Citizens

986646457_123142Following insinuating remarks by the current National Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that he might be forced to spill the beans over the sudden demise of late former President Atta Mills, some concerned citizens of Ekumfi Otuam, have called on the BNI, National Security and Police to do all within their power to keep the matter from dying a natural death.

Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan is reported to have stated in an interview on Hello FM that “Let’s not forget how someone said he would make sure the late President Mills did not run the second term; in his case not only did President Mills not run for the second term but he (President Mills) can’t be found today amongst the living and these are the people we are dealing with.”

When pushed to be emphatic on his statement, by King Edward, the host of the programme, Mr. Gyan said he would not like to go further, but would rather leave it to the judgment of listeners repeating, however, that “not only was President Mills unable to run the second term but today when we are searching for him, we can’t find him.

For this reason, Emmanuel Kwamena Anderson, chairman for the Ekumfi Otuam Citizens, has issued a statement on behalf of the entire township calling for a fresh probe into the sad news that hit Ghana some two years ago.

Below is a news release from the group:

BNI, NATIONAL SECURITY, POLICE MUST INVITE YAW BOATENG GYAN

It’s been 2 years, 4 months and 8 days since the death of our dearly beloved President and son of Ekumfi, John Evans Atta-Mills and till date we have no idea who/what killed him.

From rumours of a massive stroke, to the non-committal, so far, of his successor, John Dramani Mahama, to conduct an autopsy into what killed our President, this has been a source of great worry and one that has lingered on in our minds for over 2 years now.

But God being so good, we believe we will have closure on this matter, kind courtesy of the revelations made by the National Organiser of the NDC, Opanin Yaw Boateng Gyan.

Yaw Boateng Gyan has made it emphatically clear that President Mills did not die a natural death, as we have been made to believe. To quote the NDC organiser, “I hear my opponent has been going round with a certain tape about my alleged involvement in the World Cup in Brazil. I am not worried, but people should know that there are so many tapes that we can also play.

Let’s not forget how someone said he would make sure the late President Mills did not run the second term; in his case not only did President Mills not run for the second term but he (President Mills) can’t be found today amongst the living and these are the people we are dealing with.”

Clearly, from the above quotations of Yaw Boateng Gyan, made in an interview on Hello FM, which he has so far not denied, someone did not want our President alive to continue the good works he was doing for our motherland after 2012. Someone wanted him dead! And Yaw Boateng Gyan knows who the person is, and is, indeed, in possession of tapes to prove this assertion.

We are therefore calling on the Bureau of National Investigations, National Security and the Ghana Police Service, if possible the Military, to invite Yaw Boateng Gyan to aid in investigations so we can determine who killed President Mills. They have the right to investigate Yaw Boateng Gyan’s claims and we as a people from Ekumfi will not rest until the matter is investigated.

We are issuing a 2-week ultimatum to President Mahama and the security forces to get to the bottom of this matter. We will not rest until finality is given to this issue. If President Mahama is truly committed to the welfare of his people, and is also committed to ensuring that the rule of law works, then this is an issue he must devote himself to.

Had it not been for Prof. Mills, who stuck by him in 2008 when he announced him as his running mate, he will not be President now. We all know the forces that did not want John Mahama as Prof. Mills’ running mate, yet still Prof. Mills stuck with him. All that President Mahama is, all the fame and wealth he has acquired now is because of President Mills. Had President Mills remained alive, John Mahama would still be Vice President.

So we are imploring President Mahama, we are on our knees. Please get to the bottom of Yaw Boateng Gyan’s claims.

To Opanin Yaw Boateng Gyan, we are solidly behind you. Remain steadfast and stay true to your values and the truth. Don’t allow anyone to cow you into submission. Don’t be intimidated. Help the security services to help us. The NDC needs fearless men like you. We must know who said “he would make sure the late President Mills did not run the second term.”

God bless our homeland Ghana, and make us great and strong!!
