Two children have been burned to death at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

The children, named Prince Alado 7 years and Princess Alado 5 years, met their untimely death yesterday around 9:00 pm.

The incident occurred when a mother of four children including the deceased were sleeping at Poly Junction 3 behind the Koforidua Polytechnic institution; when their room suddenly caught fire.

The mother, named Atsupi Alado together with the other two children, Kwaku Moses and Mensah Alado are reported to be in critical condition and receiving treatment at the Koforidua Central Hospital.

Narrating the cause of the fire, Grandmother of the victims, Aunt Mansah told Peace FM’s Eastern Regional correspondent, Michael Akrofi that the victims were using candle in their room while asleep.

The candle was said to have set a cloth ablaze in the room which resulted in the death of the two children and caused series of burns to the other victims.

The mortal remains of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
