Ghana Coach blasts CAF over training schedule

article-1294608265547-0cb06ed5000005dc-1137_636x442Ghana coach, Avram Grant has launched a verbal attack on CAF after his team was forced to train at Oyala,an hour’s drive from their base in Mongomo.

A visibly upset Grant threatened not to show up for a press conference the next time his team was subjected to such an ordeal infront of a shocked press corps and with his team needing a win to survive, the pressure seems to be getting to the former Chelsea coach.

“I have said a lot of good things about this tournament but I must say that I have been a coach for over 40 years and it is not proper to be given the short notice for this press conference when I have to be with the team. We were told the press conference is on the way but we had to drive an hour and a half .”

“The only reason I showed up is because I respect you the journalist. I do not respect what has happened though,” he fumed.

“It should not be like this,” he added.

Grant also accused organisers of bias after his team’s request to train close to their hotel was turned down in favour of Algeria.

“Secondly we had to train an hour away from our hotel when Algeria was allowed to train near their hotel.

We both requested to train closer to the hotels but they did not let us do it and you have to see our bus. It drives like a ship while all the other team’s have good buses,” he opined.
