The embattled fashion Icon, Kwasi Kyei Darkwah who is facing charges for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl has been admitted at the Police Hospital in Accra.

The ace broadcaster, according to our sources, was taken to the health facility soon after his case was adjourned Thursday afternoon by the Kaneshie Magistrate court.

It is unclear what sickness the popular MC is suffering from but our sources say he has a swollen foot. KKD is standing trial for allegedly raping Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson in a washroom at the Africa Regent Hotel.

He has admitted having sex with the student, but maintains it is untrue the act was non-consensual. He first made a court appearance at a Magistrate Court in Accra, Tuesday December 30, 2014 following his arrest and detention.

An application for his bail is also pending at an Accra Human Rights court. Rape, according to Ghana’s laws, is a non-bailable offense and convicted rapists risk between five and 25 years in prison.
