Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest and the CEO of Sparrow Productions, Shirley Frimpong-Manso have been listed among the top 20 entrepreneurs who are below the age of 40 in Ghana.
The two were among a list of 20 young personalities who made it onto the 2014 ‘Ghana 20 under 40’ Business Entrepreneurs. The Ghana 20 under 40 is an initiative aimed at celebrating leading business entrepreneurs under age 40 in the county.
Also in the 20 selected entrepreneurs are Eunice Ogbugo (33), the CEO & Founder of EUGO TERRANO, Fred Deegbe Jr(29), the Co-Founder of Heel-The –World, Sangu Delle (28), Founder Palm Investments et al.
Known in real life as Kwame Ametepee Tsikata, M.anifest, 32, doubles as a songwriter and has worked with the likes of Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Erykah Badu, and was featured on the Rocket Juice and The Moon album.
In 2012, the BBC tipped him as one of four acts to look out for in Africa. He won the Best Rapper of the Year and the Hip-hop song of the Year at the 2013 Ghana Music Awards.
The rapper is also a co-founder of Giant Steps, a conference for entrepreneurs and artists and his originality in fashion earned him the brand ambassador of Woodin – a company that produces African textiles.
Shirley Frimpong-Manso, on the other hand, is a Ghanaian film director, writer, and producer who is the brain behind Sparrow Productions; a film, television and advertising production company.
She won Best Director at the 6th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2013.
As a principal of Sparrow Station, Shirley provides a video streaming service for African entertainment from Sparrow Productions and other African film producers.
The award winning director is the brain behind several movies, including Six Hours to Christmas, the Adam’s Apples series, Contract, a Sting in a Tale, Potomanto, among others.
