National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Amasa Namoale has revealed that he has been ‘running away’ from colleague MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong in Parliament.
His reason, he stated on Peace FM Wednesday is that he fears the New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand may hurt him ‘anytime he sees me.’
Ethnocentric comments made by the businessman cum politician during the 2012 electioneering campaign, he said has heightened his fear for him.
The Assin Central MP was arrested by security agencies and charged at the law courts for making certain comments deemed to be treasonable. He was however discharged by the courts after the state failed to prove the charge preferred against him.
However, three years after, the former deputy fisheries minister who sits in the same chamber with him claims he as a Ga fears Ken Agyapong because of the treasonable comments he made against his ethnic group.
The fear of the businessman, he added, causes him to change paths when he realizes he is coming face to face with him in the house.
He did not however state if he would feel comfortable if he is made to sit close to the Assin Central MP in the chamber or serve on the same committee with him.
Nii Amasa Namoale further stated that he would forgive Ken Agyapong if he apologises for the unfortunate comments.
