Chief of Staff Prosper Bani has been sacked by President John Mahama.

The decision by the President follows an over-bloated power play at the Flagstaff House that has led to the decision of some key personalities in government to quit their positions.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Valerie Sawyerr replaces Prosper Bani in that position.

Some of the high profile individuals who have threatened to leave their post include, Executive Secretary to the President Dr Raymond Atuguba and Presidential Spokesperson Ben Dotse Malor.

A source close to developments at the seat of government intimates that Mr. Bani and Dr. Atuguba have not been on cordial terms required of their positions for several months.

The source adds also, that Presidential spokesperson Ben Dotse Malor has had a difficult time taking control of the presidential press corps and Communications at the Flagstaff House as was required of his appointment.

It is unclear if the two will rescind their decision upon the apparent dismissal of Mr. Bani.
