Samini helping Kinaata? I wonder!

samini-and-Kofi-coverOne of Kofi Kinaata’s recent song has this line, “… na Highgrade, wo yi me fri mu a obiaa rasta” translated in English, “in Highgrade, if I’m excluded, the rest of the team are Rastafarians,” a clear indication that, the Takoradi signed Artiste to the Highgrade Family is in the wrong camp.

I always argued people who said Kofi Kinaata’s signing to Highgrade Family was a wrong move on the part of the Artiste. That is not where he (Kinaata) belongs; that is a camp best fit for a Dancehall Artiste so for a Hiplife Artiste to join a group whose preoccupation is to dominate the Dancehall genre in the country and beyond, it is a no-no, many people argued with this.

I was also of the view that, Samini has come under attacks of not helping Stonebwoy so he will use Kofi Kinaata to tell everyone that, Stonebwoy was not patient enough to wait for the ripe season and took his French leave.

In a chit-chat with some friends, I was steadfast and argued that Samini has a lot to offer the brand Kinaata. A friend asked me what exceptional thing has Samini done for Kinaata? “Do you want to tell me going to radio interviews and TV interviews are all he can offer him? Nana c’mon, mention something exceptional.” Honestly, I was blank; there wasn’t anything I could think of except that he (Kinaata) is given 3 minutes of Samini’s performances on bigger platforms.

Growing a brand entails a lot and the impression we are having from afar is that, Samini is out of ideas to grow the Kinaata brand. Compare the Mz Vee brand to Kinaata, compare Pappy Kojo to Kinaata; these Acts even came after the Kinaata brand and are loud than the Highgrade could ever project their own.

You can say life is not about who takes the first step or who is ahead but the end justifies the means. My question is when is the end who determines it? The very day I became sad was when a friend asked me who is popular, Pappy Kojo or Kinaata and when an online medium added Kinaata’s name as an Artiste who can never make it in 2015. Brand positioning is very important in this growing industry but till now, it is difficult to know the brand position of Kinaata.

Sa sa mini mini! we acknowledge your efforts and so much appreciate what you are doing. Personally, I have defended you countless times that you have amazing things for Kinaata to project his brand well but it seems you are failing me.

If not for anything, try to organize Kinaata nationwide tour, donate to an orphanage in the name of Kinaata, organize Kinaata and friends night at Dancestardam or whichever means to help the young Artiste stay relevant in the system because he is  losing his relevance in the system. I dey lie? ok when was the last time a medium published on him aside what I am doing?

Some of us care so much about the position of Highgrade Family, Kinaata and Samini that is why we are in this publication drawing your attention to it.

Ma ni nkye saaaa!
