The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi- Boasiako has made arrangement for buses to transport Ghanaians who would be willing to join the “Won Gbo” demonstration in Accra.

We can confirm that fifteen passenger buses would be transporting the demonstrators from the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Region to Accra.

In an interview with Andy Owusu, who is an aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman, he confirmed the news by detailing the transportation plans.

According to him, out of the 15 buses, five would be stationed at Brong Ahafo Region to bring the demonstrators to Accra. The remaining 10 would convey the rest from the Ashanti Region which is the stronghold of the party.

They are all 61 seater buses and all expenses have been catered for by Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako (aka Chairman Wontumi)”, he said.

On Wednesday, February 18, the New Patriotic Party will embark on a demonstration to protest against the worsening power crisis in Ghana. The demonstration is dubbed “Won gbo” meaning “we are dying.”

Prior to this, the General Secretary for NPP, Kwabena Agyepong, said the party before leaving office in 2009 bequeathed the nation with enough generating capacity, therefore government cannot say that the erratic power supply is caused by lack of generating capacity.
