23 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles for Black Stars ready Friday

5c31bccda0c06bbc39ca2e556ffdfceb_LTwenty three Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles are ready to be released by automobile dealers, Tanink Ghana Limited, to players of the Black Stars by close of the week.

Seven extra vehicles which were believed to be for some of the team officials would also be delivered much later and shared accordingly.

The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, stated yesterday at a press conference in Accra that the gesture by Tanink Limited had nothing to do with the government but was solely a donation from a Ghanaian businessman who decided to reward the Stars based on what he perceived to be an impressive performance by the team after they won silver at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea.

“It is purely a private venture and has nothing to do with government.

The FA has asked the players, many of who are out of the country to complete a power of attorney, appointing representatives to go for the cars before the end of this week”, Nyantakyi stressed.

Mr Nyantakyi said the FA’s Executive Committee was satisfied with the performance of Coach Avram Grant so far and noted that the national coach would also monitor the various national teams as a technical advisor to the Black Satellites, Black Meteors and the local Black Stars who would soon participate in the COSAFA tournament as a preparatory ground for their CHAN competition.

Grant , in response to a question from the media, reiterated his resolve to open his doors to all players but cautioned that the current crop of players would serve as the base for the team for the future.

“My doors are opened for new players for now, but this current team is the base of the team if they continue like this

Domestically, the country is abound with talents but there is still more room for the players to improve,” Grant stated.
