Jordan Henderson says he has no intentions of leaving Liverpool any time soon.
The star midfielder has attracted the attention of the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City this season but insists that he is not about to up and leave the club where he is expected to replace Steven Gerrard as captain.
“It’s definitely not [a major issue],” Henderson said. “I love playing football for Liverpool and I want to be there for many years.
“In terms of my contract, I think everybody else will make a big deal of it but for me it’s just letting my agent and the club deal with it and whenever it gets sorted, it gets sorted.”
Henderson is currently contracted until the summer of 2016 but is keen to put pen to an extension with the Reds where he has been since joining from Sunderland for £16million in 2011.
