It is shameful to receive Ghana Music Award – Ruff n Smooth

IMG_20150307_164039Ruff n Smooth is wondering why some Ghanaian Artistes take pride in receiving a decorated wood branded as award from Charter House during the Ghana Music Awards night and even go to the extent of fighting for a nomination in the ‘not-so-credible’ awards.

Made of Ahkan and Bullet, Ruff n Smooth in an interview with www.233times.net said their focus have outgrown the Ghanaian market and they now targeting the African continent as a whole. “During the AFCON 2015, our song ‘Liberian Girl’ was played at the stadium which shows the direction of our target now. We played more shows in Liberia, Equatorial Guinea, Canada and other countries last year, we are no more focusing on Ghana” Ruff n Smooth’s answer to why they were not nominated in ‘Best Group of the year’ in Ghana Music Awards this year.

“Why are you always attacking Ghana Music Awards?” www.233times.net asked them. Bullet who answered the question on behalf of the group said “there is no glory in receiving Ghana Music Award as an Artiste. Even with Vodafone Icons, the winner, an Up and Coming Artiste is given a 4X4 car as the prize and a well-established Artiste who receives Artiste of the year is given a wood. Until ‘Artiste of the Year’ is given a house and a good car, I don’t see any glory in receiving the award. It is shameful to receive the award.”

Ruff n Smooth is currently promoting a new song ‘Tolotolo Baby’ which features Wizboy from Nigeria.
