Judges should forgive Kwaw Kese + Artistes I love in Ghana – Kofi Wayo

Kofi-Wayo

Controversial politician and businessman Charles Kofi Wayo also known as Chucks has urged the judges hearing the case of Rapper Kwaw Kese to temper justice with mercy “and not jail him”.

Mr. Wayo who believes that the Abodam hit maker has changed pleaded for him to be given a second chance because most of the youth look up to him.

The Rapper was arrested on November 22, 2014 at Nhyiaeso, a suburb of Kumasi, at a pub called Plus2 for allegedly smoking Cannabis in public and is said to appear at the Kumasi Metropolitan Circuit Court on Friday March 13 2015 for his next hearing which also marks exactly a year since the demise of his manager Fennec Okyere.

Mr. Wayo made appeal when he was asked by Hitz fm’s Kwame B who were his favorite Ghanaian musicians.

He said, “I love Amandzeba’s ‘Wogbe’, I love Samini, Sakordie and Kwaw Kese. Asked why he was pleading on Kwaw’s behalf, he said, “Kwaw has repented and the youth loves him so the judge should give him six months to go round the country and preach to the youth about how bad drugs are but just locking him up, for the state to feed him is too much”.

Chucks said, “But we should always respect the judges. In Ghana, we abuse judges and the big men abuse judges. A judge is like a small god. When you shake hands with a judge don’t you feel something? He or she is a very special person,” he added.

On his view on the use of marijuana, Chucks said, “That is economics. We don’t believe in economics we don’t believe in anything.

“The white man is looking for ways to make money to take care of his people, he came and told you marijuana is bad, right? But do you have a researcher who studies marijuana; you don’t so you have to take what the white man tells you which is bad” he stated.
