New Patriotic Party [NPP] Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon Kennedy Agyapong has said despite President John Dramni Mahama’s unsteady governance over the years, he is looking up to him to deliver some promises he has made in recent times.

According to him, aside politics, he holds the first gentleman and his wife in high esteem even though he is an ardent critic to the Mahama’s and Mahama-led NDC government.

“I admire the man [President Mahama] and nobody can change it. I like the president and his wife. I admired the president whiles he was in parliament but that doesn’t stop me from criticizing his presidency. In politics, you say it as it is…though it will hurt your friend, it doesn’t mean that should stop the friendship.

“…I will never lose the admiration for President Mahama because he is a member of the NDC…No! He [President Mahama] has a lot of positive side. He is a gentleman,” he said.

Adding that, “President Mahama told me personally that his wife likes me”.

Speaking on OKAY FM’s “Ade Akye Ebia” programme, the outspoken Kennedy Agyapong opined that, President Mahama is “messing up” his presidency due to some individuals around him but failed to mention names.

“Sometimes in politics due to the people around you, you can mess up. Same as me [Kennedy], you would like me personally but on radio when talking politics you wouldn’t,” he said.
