Kofi Amoako pleaded guilty to the offence of defilement and was convicted accordingly by the court, presided over by Mrs Rita Agyeman Budu.
Delivering judgement in camera, Amoako pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy as he exhibited signs of remorse for his immoral conduct.
“I am pleading with the court to have mercy on me because I frankly do not know why I did this,” he stated.
Prosecution, Chief Inspector of Police, Mr J.B. Asante, told the court that Amoako was a self-styled football coach and a mason who lived in the same vicinity with the victim.
On January 28, 2015, he said Amoako invited 15 boys, including the victim, to a football camp.
At about 8 p.m. on the same day, the victim took ill at the camp and informed Amoako about it.
He said Amoako took the victim to his house to pass the night and while there, the convict gave the victim some tablets to swallow, which the victim did.
The victim fell deeply asleep immediately after taking the drugs and that paved way for Amoako to have anal sex with him.
Chief Inspector Asante said the victim returned home after the camping and the complainant, who was the mother, noticed that he was inactive.
He said the victim complained of waist and anal pains and when his mother questioned him, he revealed the ordeal he had gone through with Amoako.
A report was made to the police and after the victim was medically examined, Amoako was arrested.
