Akua Donkor commends GH?1000 soli for Journalists and asks for more next time

Akua Donkor posesThe Founder and Flag bearer of Ghana Freedom Party, Akua Donkor has commended the Chief of Staff for giving some senior journalists money in appreciation of their service to the nation.

According to her, Julius Debrah has the well-being of journalists and progress of the noble profession at heart.

The Chief of Staff has been lambasted for allegedly doling out an amount of GH?1000 to editors and senior journalists he invited to a meeting at the Flag Staff House.

Some individuals and group say the gesture amount to bribing the journalists to kowtow to the whips and caprices of government.

But Akua Donkor in an interview with Adom News said the supposed GH?1000 is too small.

She said if she had her own way, she will institute a monthly payment system for journalists to reward them for their hard work.

Akua Donkor described as hypocritical the people criticizing the Chief of Staff for giving out monies to journalists.

“Journalists are the people who keep us informed about the happenings in society so the president should have given them GH?2000,” she added.
