Lady sets mum’s house on fire for warning fiancé

18mkc2xmdow0ujpgA young lady believed to be in her twenties has reportedly set her mother’s room on fire at Dichemso in Kumasi.

The young lady who was only identified at Vida got angry because her mother, Auntie Georgina, warned her fiancé against seeing her.

Vida allegedly set the mother’s room, which is on the upper floor of a one-storey building at Hafia Junction, ablaze and left the scene.

People in the area reportedly saw the fire and called personnel of the fire service, who quickly rushed there to extinguish the fire to prevent it from extending to other rooms.

Vida was arrested by the police afterwards, Isaac Adusei, a newspaper vendor in Kumasi who was an eye witness, told Daily Guide.

He said Auntie Georgina was not happy about Vida’s relationship with her (Vida’s) boyfriend, so she called the boy and warned him.

The boy (name unknown) became angry about the stern warning given him and confronted Vida about the issue.

Afraid of losing her fiancé, Vida rushed home and picked up a quarrel with her mother for interfering in her love life.

After the quarrel, Auntie Georgina reportedly left the house and Vida, who was still brimming with rage, set her mother’s room on fire.

Isaac Adusei said things in the room, including furniture and electrical appliances, all got burnt in the fire before it was doused.

The eyewitness commended the firefighters for their good work which stopped the fire from extending further.
