Herve Renard’s imminent appointment as coach of LOSC Lille has sparked rumours of a reunion with Lorient’s Jordan Ayew.
But the Ghanaian international’s current club is quickly showing signs of no interest in losing their in-form forward after just a season.
Reportedly costing the club €4 million in transfer fees from Marseille last summer, Ayew has immensely contributed to Lorient’s survival in this season’s Ligue 1. He has scored 12 goals with as many assists in 30 league appearances.
Manager Sylvain Ripolli has stated in an interview with Sport365 that the 23-year-old will stay on as he is key in Lorient’s 2015/16 season project.
“Jordan Ayew is obviously part of the players that we are relying on for next season and he will even perform better. We count on Jordan for the 2015/2016 season and he will be with us” Ripolli said.
“Our project for next season is with players of the calibre of Jordan. Football remains football and you know as well as I do,” he ended.
