Celebrities in the country have called on Ghanaians to join them in the #dumsormuststop campaign.
Rapper Sarkodie and actress Yvonne Nelson say they will hit the streets of Accra by way of a vigil slated on May 16, 2015 to register their displeasure on the erratic power supply.
The celebrities have hit at government on social media for failing to fulfill the promises of fixing the energy crisis popularly known as ‘dumsor’.
They have written to the police through their lawyers informing them of their plans to hold the vigil and a procession at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Lawyer for the celebrities, Nana Kwesi Awuah on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Tuesday said though the police has not given them the green light, he is optimistic the outcome will be bright.
“We are yet to hear any results from the police but we are very hopeful that they will accept our request and allow us to express our grievances.
“They will come with candles in order to put pressure on government to as a matter of urgency do something about the dumsor. I am therefore calling on everyone to wear black to depict dumsor” he insisted.
