ECG to sue Ashanti Region residents

ECG-400x330The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has served notice of plans to sue residents and companies in the Ashanti region who are still indebted to the company.
According to ECG it estimates the debts to run in excess of 90 million Ghana cedis and it is bent on retrieving all these monies.Hundreds of residents in the Ashanti region who are indebted to ECG have already been cut from the Nation grid as part of a mass disconnection exercise.

The Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of ECG, Erasmus Kyere Baidoo told Citi Business news ‘our objective is not to disconnect but to retrieve money. Customers must not wait and accumulate debt before they pay once we have given you power pay for it. We will take legal action to retrieve our money.’ He said.
