If there is anyone on social media who has shown immeasurable hatred for Shatta Wale, it is David Nyamekye known in Showbiz as DJ 619, a Ghanaian DJ in Los Angeles, USA.
Shatta Wale performed in Los Angeles on 8th May, 2015 and DJ 619 was part of the Organizers of the show. Surprising to many on his active Facebook page, DJ 619 posted a picture of himself with Shatta Wale with eulogizing comments.
Asking him what influenced all the praises on Shatta Wale instead of attacks, DJ 619 told www.233times.net that, “I didn’t like Shatta Wale because I was a Samini fan, I didn’t like him because I had believed all the Ghanaian media said about him without researching myself, I didn’t like him because I didn’t listen to his songs since the media made me believe he is always insulting in his songs and not saying anything sensible, I never liked him because I though he was always arrogant like we are made to believe.”
“Everyone knows I didn’t like him but I am now an ardent fan because he is humble, funny, he speaks his mind. You know my other promoter intentionally asked him if he will do a show with Samini and he quickly said he is not a bad person, he likes Samini and what he will do a show with him if Samini is ready to. So my friend called Samini’s camp right infront of Bulldog and Shatta Wale and what they said was only if Shatta Wale doesn’t talk shit” DJ 619 revealed.
“He stepped on stage and performed 15 songs non-stop. He kept playing with Junior over and over till the point when Junior even kept saying, Shata Shatta. You will like him when you get closer to him but from afar he is painted as a monster.”
“After the show we took him to a private room and he called me that, oh why are you doing this to me, take me outside let me hang out with you guys and I was shocked, and he came outside taking pictures. Honestly, I was shocked by that. I now like him so much. I don’t know why the media did this to him. I wonder. He is not the person the media has made us believe, the Ghanaian media was untruthful about Shatta Wale” DJ 619.
This popular axiom confirms DJ 619’s assertion, “Studies have shown that 90% of error in thinking is due to error in perception. I f you can change your perception, you can change your emotion and this can lead to new ideas” Edward de Bono
