I doubt Lydia Forson insulted Prez. Mahama – Kweku Baako

Lydia-ForsonKweku Baako has described actress cum producer Lydia Forson as a “decent lady“, and strongly believes she will not go out of her way to deliberately rain insults on President John Mahama.

He was contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM‘s “Kokrokoo” on the issue of a letter written by Lydia Forson on the power crises.

The 2010 African Movie Academy Award Best Actress In A Lead Role, who was obviously disgruntled by the “dum sor” phenomena, urged President John Mahama and his government to take necessary measures to rectify the problem.

But her statements seem to have not landed well with some members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Halidu Haruna, who accused her and other women in their 30s as prostitutes.

Though he has apologized, some critics believe he shouldn’t have even constructed such words in the first place.

Kweku Baako told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that he whiles he believes Lydia Forson is a decent woman, her choice of words might have been “uncharitable“. He however added that the president has a thick skin to withstand such criticisms.

I think she’s a decent woman, very [very] decent lady. Maybe her language was uncharitable but if you’re a President; who says President Mahama cannot stand that kind of critic? Who says so?

…I doubt she went out of her way to insult. She’s too good for that…I will be really shocked if you take a look at it and it’s an insult. It doesn’t reflect her character.”
