Nadia Buari’s life story: Her adoption and growing up in Takoradi

948452064_950856Nadia Buari (yes, Buari not Buhari like some of us think) was born on November 21 1982 in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.

The very beautiful Ghanian actress graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon, with a B.FA degree in Fine Arts. Her mother had her for a white man out of wedlock but later she married Alhaji Sidiku Buari, who adopted her legally.

Her adopted father who is a polygamist was a musician and former president of the musician union (MusiGA)for 8years and later served as the vice president of The international federation of musicians (FIM).

The Buaris are a family of showbiz, from music to modelling, down to acting. Nadia’s elder sister Shaida Buari (now married to a Nigerian) was once miss Ghana 2002 and made to the finals of miss world. Her brother Majeed, who goes by the stage name Jeed Rogers has big interest in animation and rap music, he has a single “tell em” and an animated video to go with it.

In 2005, Nadia made her first break – she premiered on Ghanaian National Television with the TV series Games People Play. Her first movie was “Mummy’s Daughter”. However, the movie “Beyonce” : The President’s Daughter” brought her into the limelight.

She has starred in over 40 movies and once dated Ghana’s most rated football star, Michael Essien  but later parted ways, after he fathered a son from another woman who he was rumoured to have dated alongside Nadia.
