Okraku Mantey replies Sammy Forson and blacklists Sarkodie

okrakuMark Okraku Mantey, Chief Executive of Slip Music, has made known his decision to maintain perpetual zipped lips on any matter concerning rap artiste Sarkodie.

Mr Okraku Mantey, Programmes Coordinator for Hitz Fm, is a renowned music producer and a regular panel on a couple of entertainment programmes.  He made the above disclosure on Hitz Fm.

His decision to ignore all Sarkodie-related matters is a response to several near-insults on his person and career. A number of insulting tweets were reported to have been written and published by Sammy Forson, a member of Sarkodie’s management team.

Mr Forson, apparently unhappy about reports that he had been described by Okraku Mantey as one of Sarkodie’s “errand boys”, recently took to his Twitter accounts to share a piece or two of his mind.

The tweets attributed to Mr Forson read: “So I gather Mark Okraku Mantey and Some Arnold dude on Peace Fm called me and my road manager “Errand boys” for Sark… Lol… It just saddens me when these guys sit on radio and speak so much negativity and Ghanaians believe them when they have done nothing to help.

“Well, Mark, as “Errand Boys” we have won at BET, MTV Base etc. What did u do with Lord Kenya, Daasebre, etc. Did u even get a nomination?

“The fact that some of us keep mute and grind at the same time doesn’t mean u can Diss and get away with it. I don’t talk till it’s necessary.

“If you have the interest of Gh artistes at heart, u will use every platform u hav 2 support & help push the industry. Thought u knew better…If u won’t support, shut up and let those of us who know what we are about do our work. I expect u to know better. Help grow the industry.”

However, both Okraku Mantey and Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo have categorically denied ever referring to Sammy Forson as an “errand boy”.

Okraku Mantey said on Hitz Fm: “Sammy Forson should also not expect people to talk about Sarkodie when he also does good things. Sammy is a friend and so I’ll still want to show him respect and next time he hears things, he should try to find out those who said [them].”

On Forson’s dig at Mark that the latter was unable to do anything with highlife musicians he once managed, Mark retorted: “It is a non-starter. When Lord Kenya [one of the artistes he managed] was rapping years ago, where was BET in Africa?”
