A former hater of Shatta Wale who is now fighting heaven and hell to defend the Artiste, David Nyamekye, aka DJ 619 has explained how BET nominates Africans for the award. In a rather lengthy post, DJ 619 said Shatta Wale and Manager, BullDog told him that, they had something bigger ahead of that and that is why they did not submit their work for possible nomination.
The Ghanaian DJ who is residing in Los Angeles, DJ 619 said;
“When shatta was here in LA, WE ASK HIM AND BULLDOG WHY THEY DIDNT SUBMIT THEIR WORK, AND THEY SAID THEY DIDNT HAVE TIME THEY PUTTING SOMETHING BIG AHEAD OF THEM. PLEASE NOTICE AND AGAIN NOTICE BET DOESNT SIT DOWN OR EVEN HAVE TIME TO MONITOR AND LISTEN TO ANY AFRICAN ARTIST. IF SHATTA WALE DIDNT GET NOMINATED IS BECAUSE THE MANAGEMENT MADE THE CHOICE NOT TO SUBMIT THEIR WORK. DONT THINK THAT THOSE ARTIST WERE BEING MONITORED BY BET OR THEY JUST CALL THEM FOR AWARD. THERE IS A PROCESS AND FORMS TO BE FILLED SO PLEASE LEAVE SHATTA WALE ALONE. GIVE THE GUY THE MAXIMUM RESPECT.”
