Call it corruption with impudence and impunity, shameless rot or even a fly in the face of Justice and morality, and you would not be an inch away from the truth.
Some police personnel stationed at Dixcove in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region are alleged to have made a monetary demand from a complainant who went to the station to report of an abduction case
The complainant in the case, Richard Mensah, the Headmaster of Nana Kumi Int School at Ntaakrom in the Dixcove circuit tells www.233times.net after a routine roll coll in all the classes before lessons begun on Friday (June,5, 2015), he realized that, one of the class 6 pupils (name withheld) who is 13years, was absent.
Upon further investigation, he was informed that the pupil in question has been ‘camped’ by a certain young man in his room for the past three days.
He was directed to the said house and to his amazement, the pupil was found in the room with the man who is said to be in his early 30s.
The headmaster immediately rushed to lodge a complainant with the dixcove police but according to him, they demanded 50 cedis from him before they could go with him to effect the arrest of the alleged abductor. A demand that didn’t go down well with him causing him to call me to report the matter.
The headmaster tells me his life is now being threatened by a group of persons who are believed to be friends of the alleged abductor upon hearing that he had reported the case.
