I will contest for President – Daasebre Gyamenah

hqdefaultRenowned Hilife Artiste, Daasebre Gyamenah, religiously known as Abubakar Siddiq has revealed to www.233times.net that he will contest Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour for Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) President in the next election of the union.

In his own words, “MUSIGA is dirty and needs to be cleansed. Even though Obour is trying but he is not doing well. The union needs competent people who will make sure the welfare of the Musicians of the union is their ultimate goal” and this has ‘infuriated’ him to contest for the position.

According to the ‘Kokooko’ crooner, Musicians are very rich people but it depends on a competent leader to help them collect revenues due them. “Piracy is killing the industry and that is what Obour should look at. As I said, MUSIGA is so dirty and needs cleansing” Daasebre told www.233times.net

As a President, Daasebre says he will bring accountability and transparency in the union, two key things lacking in Obour’s administration.

“I have never taken any royalties for any of my songs, I am a member of GHAMRO but I have not been in Ghana for a while and nobody has even called me to give me any royalty. I am also a member of MUSIGA” Daasebre’s answers to whether he is a member of MUSIGA and GHAMRO and if he has received royalties before.

Obour has revealed his intention to recontest for the MUSIGA President saying “I have done loads of work as a MUSIGA president; the records are there for all to see. I want to finish the good works that I’ve started so that whosoever that will take over from me will find stuffs easier for him; I deserve a second term, no two ways.”

Obour will then have to face stiff competition from Daasebre Gyamenah in the next election of the union.

Daasebre Gyamenah is currently promoting his new album ‘Yen Fee Ta’
