PHOTO: 2 pregnant women killed

Wrecked-VehiclesEIGHT PERSONS, including two pregnant women and two babies, on Monday met their untimely death through a fatal road accident on the Atebubu-Ejura highway in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

According to the Acting Atebubu Divisional Police Commander, Superintendent Joseph Atsu Dzimeku, the gory collision involving two taxis, occurred at about 1:30pm at Jato
Zongo on the Atebubu-Amanten section of the road.

He told DAILY GUIDE that a taxi, an Opel Astra with registration number AS 180-12, moving from the Atebubu direction to Ejura, had its tyres burst, veered off its lane and collided with an oncoming taxi – an Opel Vectra registered GW 1419 T – killing eight persons on the spot.

Supt Atsu Dzimeku said the only four survivors had since been admitted at the Atebubu Government Hospital undergoing medical treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the St Mathias Hospital at Yeji pending autopsy.
