PHOTOS: Irate sodom and gomorrah residents invade State House

Victims of the Saturday mass demolition exercise at Sodom and Gomorrah in Accra have invaded the State House as part of their protest against the exercise which took place in the area.



According to the irate residents, a member of the slum was killed in the demolition exercise which was extended to Sunday.

Starr News Prince Afotey who reported from the grounds said the protesters, numbering about 400, are holding placards with inscriptions that tell their feelings about the situation.

Afotey reports that the demonstrators have blocked the ministries road forcing the police to fire tear gas.

Some of them are reportedly heading towards the State House for unknown reasons.

Some of the residents who spoke to Starr News said they will continue to demonstrate until the President reacts to their concerns.

According to them, the demolition has affected their children who are taking part in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
